The Russian magician Artem Shchukin won the 17th national contest of magicians in South Korea (Alexander Magic Convention) and received the first award for his item in the section “Manipulation”.
For the first time in 17 years the Russian artist was allowed to take part in this contest. The international jury, that included the world champion in tricks Lukas (LUKAS), highly appreciated the mastery of the Russian artist by conferring him the title of the Prize Winner.
"Artem went to South Korea for work experience job in order to enhance his level of mastery. South Korea is the only country having leading position in the art of illusions and its artists have won all the championships in tricks in Asia, Europe and worldwide (FISM) over the course of many years. Under the conditions of Covid-19 pandemic Artem had stayed in Korea for 7 months and prepared an item, with which he performed on the national contest of illusionists and became the winner", - told Sergey Shchukin, the art director of the Theatre of Tricks “Samokat” to the journalist of the TV channel “Saratov 24”.
